The school was established in memory of a renowned Kaduna Islamic Scholar Malam Abubakar Sulaiman (R) (popularly known as Malam Garba) who lived at CH1a Shehu Laminu Road, Unguwan Rimi, Kaduna.
The school was named after world-renowned scholar; “AHMAD BN HANBAL” to inspire the depth of seeking knowledge and practice of Islamic teachings affiliated to Ahmad Bn Hanbal foundation. The foundation was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on the 3rd day of July 2015 to support and ease access to education in underprivileged communities. The school started skeletal operations in the last quarter of 2014 with Tahfeez (Memorization) and Ismaiyyah for all ages both male and female, women and children, young and old in a five (5) wooden classrooms. The School Management board sought to get it better, it commences building of structures and procurement of academic facilities. The school Management Board also sought the approval for registration with Kaduna State Government through Kaduna State Quality Assurance Authority on 26th April 2019,and got approval to commence operaration with the conventional section in the 2020/2021 academic section and then Bureau of Interfaith (Islamic Matters). The main aim and cardinal objective of the school is to make quality education accessible and affordable to the less privileged and vulnerable in the society, through sponsorships, awards and scholarships and skill acquisition with and outside the school. The school now has been registered with the both Kaduna state quality assurance and Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC) in the year 2021 as “ABH Schools For Science and Technical Education”.
